Beautifully captured.
Great shot.

My first impression was of some kind of fiber-optic decoration. How nice to realize that it was a flower instead!

It's great how the background appears purple, too.

Awesome shot. I Love that it is mostly cool colors but there is that speck of warm yellow/orange. I think the blurry foreground works also. I just wish the subject itself was a little more in focus.

Charlie, fine textured shot--very smooth. Hey, I saw and handled a LOMO yesterday.

Beautiful! The orange pollen do stand out from all the purple. Any chance for a wallpaper?

Thanks everyone! orange... I agree that I wish the pollen was a bit more in focus, but this was my first outing with my new macro and I should have used a tripod...hehe... I was just too excited when the lens came to mess with it! :)

Very beautiful and soft image. Like others I'd be curious (funny to use that word on your blog!?) to see the pollen more in focus -- but I have a hunch that the image might then loose its compelling softness...

Great job! I see the new lens is already being put to very good use. This is a beautiful image.

I wish it was a bit more in focus.. Great colours though.

Nice shot. I like the composition, the colours, and the bluriness, but like you said wish the polen was more in focus. Looking forward to more macros.

Wonderfully abstract and soft. Wow, indeed.

I like the saturation and how you handled the curves. I'm with everyone on using a tripod and cable.

Nice colours and depth. I'm still wondering if I could do this... :)

~very nicely presented, possibly just a slight bit more detail (USM in Pshop) would make this really pop visually; the soft purple hues are xlnt, they really caught my eye and brought me right into the frame~

I know I'm a bit late to join the thread on this one but just had to say I think it's a superb shot. I really like the 'soft' feel to it - it has a wonderful quality about it.

A nice macro... and i agree with ORANGE that the subject matter most in focus could be a little more crisp. It doesn't really take away from the shot, but it would have added just a bit more impact.

And i agree with practically everyone else... the color range is marvelous... very soft, very well cropped.

Nice.

awesome shot :) Glad I inspired you to look for those little bugs! looking forward to seeing some of your shots.

So many flowers have an otherworldy quality to them and the soft suggestion of petals presented here certainly adds to that nature. Soothing shot.

A truely wonderful photo! You've got my vote !
I especially like the softness of the colours and how the complementry colour (orange) stands out - macro. Well done.
